Arnite® ID 3040 is a high quality PET (polyethylene terephthalate) used in high-precision parts in unlimited variety of applications, which meets the highest standards expected in industries such as automotive and consumer products. The material is currently used in safety-critical parts in the automotive industry. Arnite® ID 3040 is a rigid polymer with best-in-class layer-to-layer adhesion when compared to PLA, ABS or other commonly used polymers in 3D printing. Our premium product is suitable for applications that require high strength, low shrinkage and dimensional stability, combined with a temperature peak resistance up to 250°C.
GENERIC MACHINERY SETTINGS
The following settings are a generic guide, geometrical requirements of the application or the used printer could make necessary to adjust this values to obtain the best result. These generic settings are stablished for a 0.4mm Nozzle Diameter and a Glass Build Plate surface, note that for different nozzle diameters and/or a different build plate surface material, the settings should be changed accordingly.
- Print speed: 50 mm/s
- Layer Height: 0.2 mm
- Brim/Skirt: 15 outlines with 1 layer
- Extrusion temperatures: Range of nozzle temperatures (270-290ºC / 518-554ºF). Preferred temperature to obtain optimal mechanical properties will be achieved at 285ºC / 545ºF
- Build plate temperature: 85ºC / 185ºF
- Build plate adhesion: We recommend to use PrintaFix as an adhesive promotor. Adding a (large) skirt/brim to the print will help in stablishing build plate adhesion during the print as well.
- Cooling Fan: Off
Store: In order to prevent moisture pick up and contamination, supplied packaging should be kept closed and undamaged. For the same reason, partially used bags should be sealed before re-storage.
Allow the material that has been stored elsewhere to adapt to the temperature in the processing room while keeping the bag closed.
Packaging: Arnite® ID 3040 is supplied in plastic bag, moisture-proof packaging.
Moisture content as delivered: Arnite® ID 3040 is packaged at a moisture level <0.05w%.
